Hitogata Nagashi

"Hitogata Nagashi" is a novel written by Kaoru Kitamura, Japanese writter. This novel was serialized on Asahi Shimbun in 2005~2006. I bought it because I had read it and interested by it when it serialized.

In this story, Chinami, Makiko and Mimi are friends that has shared important time since they are teenager each other. But Chinami has gotten awful sick.　In the serious sickness, Chinami thinks that the important thing what human needs on their lives is a friend ship among each persons.

This story moved me pretty. Especially, relationship between Makiko's husband and his stepdaughter, or a scene that parting between Chiaki and Makiko.

I would like to persuade to read this novel at once when you search something moving to read.

the Illusion of Black and Tan

"the Illusion of Black and Tan" is a novel that written by Japanese writer, Riku Onda, my most favorite writer now. This writer's charm point is expression about sensitive feelings among a few persons. This merit is stressed especially in this story which consist of monologues said by four persons who are nearly friends each other.

Two men and two women came into Y island. They looked like nearly friends each other, but they had secret things they could not tell their friends. Now, it becomes clear slowly and constantly that their secret things...

Y island in this novel can guess Yakushima. I like this island that suits this sentimental story. I came to visit Yakushima since I had read this novel.

Flowers for Algernon

"Flowers for Algernon" is a famous SF novel. This story is a tragedy that a retardate decided to be undergone the operation for improving his IQ.

I think it is a great novel in a previous century.

Guin Saga

Do you know the longest novel in the world, "Guin Saga"?

Guin Saga is a heroic fantasy that is written the process that Guin who has a leopard face becomes King of "Center Field". 　This novels have being written by a Japanese writer, Kaoru Kurimoto since 1979 to 2009. These series published about 160 books! But the story is so exiting. So you will want to read the next story when you read this book.

I met this series in 14 years old, and I had read almost books in this series. But the author, Ms. Kurimoto died without end this series in May 2009. I regret her early death and want to read a new book in this series.

Mardoch Scramble

This novel is one of my favorite books. There are many interesting elements in this novel.

Balot, a teenage girl was being killed by Shell, a dealer. But she revived because Eufcoque, a rat that had be made by engineer as a universal weapon and Dr. Easter, a mad scientist operated her. By this operation, she got special ability that blind field of vision by metal skin and remote controling on the thin of electric thing.

This is one of the best SF in Japan.

Flyby of Silence

I love "Flyby of Silence", SF short stories and the author because of his funtastic SF world. I moved deeply manytimes. This book has a great dream that human being should go out to the vast universe. In this stories, various people that have no relation each other encounter wonderful things. And these people change something. The people have no relation in this story, but if you read all stories, you will notice the author's optimistic massages "human being is not perfect, but it becomes it", "It is wonderful that human being advances to space".

I recommend this book as an one of the best SF in Japan.

The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress

This is one of my favorite books especially this novel's japanese title "Tuki Ha(wa) Mujihi Na Yoru No Joou". This novel was written by R. A. Heinlein, who is one of big three of SF novel writer. I read the book three times because there are a lot of fun in it.

Three men and one supercomputer plan to make the moon where independent of the earth in this story. The moon had been prison that sent the criminal, and their descendant in 2075. Manie was a engineer of criminal's descendant, and was a friend of "Mike" who was supercomputer of government of moon and had his personality. One day, he decided to resist the earth with "Professor(Bernardo de la Paz)" who was his friend, "Wyoh(Wyoming Knott)" who was a reader of independence movement and Mike.

A friendship of Manie and Mike is so great! Professor is very cool! Wyoh is pretty charming! Independence movement is exciting! War against the earth is thriling! Let's read this nice novel!

I, ROBOT

"I,ROBOT" is a famous collection of short Science Fiction stories written by Isaac Asimov, who is one of big three of SF novel writer as well as A. C. Clarke and R. A. Heinlein. In this novel a phrase which is famous principles of Robotics "Three Laws of Robotics" was used for the first time in the world.

Three laws of Robotics

1.A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2.A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First law.

3.A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second law.

In this story, Susan Calvin, the chief robot psychologist, solves a large number of mysteries about strange behaviors of robots. For example, one robot should have killed one person, but three laws of robots in the robot's brain are absolute. Did the robot kill a human being? And if the robot killed a human being, why did the robot kill? There are a lot of mysteries in this novel. Moreover, the part of solution is logical and thrilling! Would you read it?

the Lord of the ring

Hello. I am Yusuke. It is second posting.

This time I would like to introduce "the Lord of the Ring". This series are written by J.R.R.Torkien in 1954~1955. Now this series famous as one of "The greatest three fantasies in the world". As you know(you might have seen this in the movies), the story of these novels is that a boy(Frodo) belonging Hobbit race and his companion walk toward a volcano in Mordor(land of demons) under the rule of Sauron(king of demons) to destroy Sauron’s magical Ring. In this story, there are a lot of thrilling point. I think that the most thrilling point in the story is adventure of Frodo’s party. The party is found by Sauron easily because of the magical ring’s power. Moreover the ring have lots of charm so there are some people who betrayed Frodo in his party…

I think it is exciting, would you read this thrilling story?
